Description

Five children aged from three and a half to five years talk about their lives. They speak of their interests and fears, their attitudes to parents and grownups, the dreams they have and their desires to be older than they are. They demonstrate early defence mechanisms and various elements of sibling rivalry. Two are American, one Australian, one Euro/African and one Northern Irish. Much of the dialogue in this tape shows development well within the expected range although one or two aspects may give some cause for concern.

Part of a series of programmes by Malcolm Brown, who made the Talking About..’ series. For teaching and learning purposes, the human life span is divided into 12 linked stages, from the pre-school child to the very old.
